"Bob, it is with great pride that I endorse your candidacy for Indian River County Commissioner. I can’t think of anyone more qualified to serve in such an important capacity. Based on our many conversations over the years, I know you are a principled conservative that believes deeply that government should not grow faster than its citizens ability to pay for it. You will be a wonderful watchdog of the people’s money."
--Jeb Bush, Governor of Florida (1999-2007)
"Bob Auwaerter has a record of accomplishment in our county unmatched by any other county commission candidate. Bob fought for the sale of Vero Electric, which has been a boon to the economy of our community. He has actively been engaged in the fight against the death train and I am personally aware of the time he has spent with our County Administrator and Attorney helping them to better understand the nuances of the Train’s finances and bond issuances. As a member of the MPO I have watched him competently chair the committee.

I am actively supporting Bob because I am confident he will do a great job serving Indian River County residents. I am confident because Bob has a great work ethic, which is a key to serving one’s constituents. and Bob has the financial skills necessary not only to understand the budget and finances of our County, which I am happy to say are presently in great shape, but to also guide them and keep them in a healthy condition. Most importantly Bob has the conservative values necessary to keep the Indian River County government focused on the needs of its residents.

Please join me and vote for Bob Auwaerter for District 5, Indian River County Commission on August 18th."
--Bob Solari, Indian River County Commissioner
"I met Bob a couple of years ago when we served as members of the Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities committee. Bob has a quiet, unassuming manner, but always had a firm grasp of the issues and he could be counted on to contribute valuable input to the situations being discussed by the committee. Bob's knowledge of local government has been invaluable as he researches issues to find ways to improve each challenge facing the committee. These are some of the reasons why I feel that Bob Auwaerter would be an outstanding asset to Indian River County and why I am endorsing him for the position of County Commissioner in 2020."
--Joel Tyson, Mayor of Fellsmere

"Bob, it is with great pleasure that I give you my unqualified endorsement for the position of Indian River County Commissioner (District 5). You have clearly demonstrated your belief in giving back to the local community as evidenced by your various positions such as a member of the School Board Audit Committee, Chair and now Vice-Chair of the City’s Public Utilities Commission, Vice-Chair of the Indian River Shores Town Council, and a number of other positions.

In addition, you have attended various Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) Board and Committee meetings where you were able to provide analytical, financial, and economic knowledge regarding the sale of the of City’s electric utility which was sold to FPL in December 2018 after an eleven year battle. This facilitated the agreement of the FMPA and its bondholders to accept the early payoff of FMPA’s bonds related to the sale.

Bob worked to put himself through school receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School and his MBA from the Kellogg school. After 30+ years with the Vanguard group, he retired in 2014 as Head of the Fixed Income Group responsible for investments of over $750 Billion. During this period, he worked extensively with investments involving municipal finance which have given him extensive beneficial knowledge to the Town of Indian River shores as well as the City of Vero Beach and FMPA. There is no doubt that he will also be able to continue providing such experience and guidance at the County Commissioner level.

With all best wishes and support!"
--Dr. Stephen J. Faherty, Sr.

"Speaking as an Iraq War veteran, I can say with confidence that no executive at Vanguard supported veterans more than Bob. He listened to us, mentored us, and gave us opportunities to grow as professionals. Importantly, Bob was our strongest advocate — he made sure our voices were heard at the most senior levels and advocated for increased veteran hiring. When I left Vanguard to start a business with a few veteran friends, Bob continued to mentor us and has helped create opportunities for our business to grow. That's why I think that Bob will make a great Commissioner for Indian River County."
--Jesse Hamilton, former US Army Staff Sergeant and Iraq War Veteran
